System Status Update 03/25/2009 Uncle JesseWed, 25 Mar 2009 16:34:49 -0700

Autounrar is still plugging away. More files are appearing. We are,
however, watching this very closely as we must proactively monitor the
amount of autounrars being pushed to the system until we have all of
our new hardware installed and configured. There may be times where
the autounrar process slows a bit to ensure we do not overload our
servers.

For those using the EU NNTP servers, our admins believe to have
isolated the issue with disappearing headers that occurred over the
past weekend. They are still predicting things to return to normal by
the end of the week.

alt.binaries.boneless has been reset on our US and EU servers.
The article number high bounds on alt.binaries.boneless recently
reached a limit of 2147483647 (i.e. 2^31 - 1). That number is a
long-established limit in the NNTP world, and at this time, there is
unfortunately no solid agreement on how to handle a group exceeding
that limit. We have made the decision to reset the group to start
article numbers from 1 again so users will begin seeing new articles
in the group immediately. If you notice problems with this group when
using your newsreader to download headers, simply purge the group and
begin reloading your selected range of new headers. If you are pulling
articles via message-id or through the use of nzb files, you should
not be affected by this group reset.

Please let us know if you have questions.
