| Interesting move this FEE INCREASE. We used to get 60 to 70 days retention in some groups http access. There were promises of increased retention in nntp, BUT that has never materialized. I never switched to or added the beta sites since EZnews tech said it was discontinued. Now this announcement that for 50% more one can get retention 100 days http. Was this something that most users knew about? Or did it just happen randomly? An interesting but NOT impressive move, Sir Jesse. Is it time to leave EZn all together? nntp is traffic shaped and EZn knows that. So are we being held up for bandwidth speed? Guess you can tell this is not a happy EZn customer writing. At the least there might have been a better way to tell me than a blue line saying "you are NOT a PLUS customer". How about something more like an announcement instead of a one line ~you are now a LIMITED user, but we'll take more of your money~..... |

| The Plus Content was an ugly surprise when I wanted to download a particular file today. For over 8 years now I have been signed up with Easynews, but I can only see myself bumping up against that Plus Content warning a few times before I yank stakes and move down the road. |
| I understand the 2-tiered pricing, but I am very disappointed that retention is one of the differences between tiers. Another major news provider (with 200 day retention) gives the same retention across the board. I'm surprised that your magnify this relative weakness of your service by give price-sensitive and lower use customers even less. |

| I don't understand the thinking behind the upcoming easynews service. For another $5 I can (and actually have) the Diamond service from Giganews, which gives me 200 days retention (not 100) and UNLIMITED downloads (not a paltry 30GB). Lets face it in this day and age, 30GB is nothing, hell, I can use that in a day. The only thing that keeps me here at the moment is that my daughter find it a bit easier to use, but once I have educated her to the requiste software, I'll be long gone. It strikes me as too little too late. |

| PLEASE FIX THE ZIP MANAGER. I zipped up a file yesterday and it's showing 'expires' to be 93 days. NINETY-THREE! Now that isn't going to happen because I don't have Easynews Plus and I ain't getting it so until you fix Zip Manager to show what the REAL 'expires' is there's no way of knowing when my files are going to slip off the end before I've had chance to download them. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Can I still download zips after my Easynews Standard 50 days are up? Does zipping make them safe? Confused. |

| Service has slowed down but it I think my ISP is using some kind of packet shaping software now that caps news speed to 200k-300k I used to get double that. |

| For the first time ever in this survey I have said I wouldn't recommend EN to a friend: it's a sad day indeed, but this IWF debacle is, in many people's opinion, the thin end of a very big wedge. I used to say most of the Internet could disappear overnight as long as EN still existed, It pains me to say now it might be the beginning of the end. |

| I think the idea of Easynews Plus is rubbish. 100 days retention on the Web-UI should be standard for all users. Others have 200 days retention (NNTP only then). Pay five bucks more just to get more retention on the Web-UI? Never... Sometimes the Web-UI is a nice feature, but I can totally go without it. |
